The APC - Back-UPS Pro 1500VA with 10 Outlets and 2 USB Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector is a great system, and of course easy to setup, and most importantly is continuous and continuously working saving my servers. During power outage this system goes into action. Great system and highly recommend this.

I'm using this to power my PC (that draws about 650-700 watts), two monitors and charge my phone. Fairly easy to set up and gives you ease of mind because you know your expensive electronic devices will be safe in case of power outages.

APC has been a great UPS resource for many, many years. I’d say more than two dozen purchased for my home and business during that time. Of course, the dry cells need replacement every 5 years or so, but that’s simple and inexpensive. Never had an issue with the electronics or backup/surge functionality.

One layer of surge protection is never enough. I try to have at least 4 from the meter, to the sub panel to the wall to the UPS. I lose very few devices by sacrificing the surge blocks. This keeps the computer running during blinks and shuts it down after time runs out, before data is lost and files are corrupted. I am planning on buying another for another computer.

Bought this to protect my computer from power surges in my rental house. The surges fried the RAM in my gaming PC, which was fortunately an easy fix. The peace of mind was definitely worth the cost.

Previously I had two UPS units, one for the computer and one for my peripherals. After the black out marathon Valentines weekend, one of those units "bit the dust." This unit can handle everything with ease. It usually runs at less then 15% of capacity. According to its display it will run for nearly an hour during a power outage.

Very unhappy with this APC-1500VA UPS. I've had it for 3 months and 1 day. A week ago it failed with an error code F02. No idea what caused the failure. I followed the recovery instructions, it ran for a couple more days, then the same failure code. Another reset, another 3 days and failed AGAIN yesterday. Just got off the phone with APC Service for warranty, they said the serial number I gave them was invalid so they wouldn't help me, and even if the serial number was valid, (I copied it off the serial number tag on the bottom,) the warranty period has now expired because it was received by me on Dec 30, 2025 and I've had it for over 3 months (1 day over). This is my FIRST and LAST APC unit. JUNK and only a 3 month warranty??? Doing a searching on APC 1500VA warranty says its 2 years!!! I wonder why the huge difference in warranty period??? Also, looked at negative reviews (I should have done this before the purchase) turns out the error codes F01 and F02 seem to be VERY COMMON and F02 may be accompanied with burning odors/smoke and damage to attached devices. So I have a unit that I wouldn't trust even if I could get it repaired. Maybe I can reuse the batteries since they are supposed to be new, but the rest of the UPS is worthless/trash. Good luck if you decide to buy one anyway and make sure your house fire insurance is up to date.

      Posted .

      Hello,
We do apologize about this inconvenience. We at APC by Schneider Electric value your feedback and would like to help you with this concern.

An F02 error code displayed by the BR1500 indicates solid state component damage, i.e. a blown fuse, relay weld, etc. Please try the following steps:
      1. Remove all load from the UPS.
      2. Power cycle the UPS. Unplug the UPS from the wall, unplug the battery.
      3. Plug the battery and UPS back in and turn it back on.

If the fault returns, then the UPS will need to be replaced.

You mentioned the UPS is 3 months old, so it should still be under factory warranty. Factory warranty coverage is 3 years from purchase date. Be sure to ;provide a valid proof of purchase so warranty dates can be updated.

Please let us know if you still need any additional assistance. Contact our Technical Support Hotline at 1-800-800-800-4272 or chat with us at APC by Schneider Electric.

I bought an older model 5 years ago. Something went wrong with it after about three years. But APC replaced it with a brand new one and it is still working. However, I wanted a newer version has some updated features and a larger battery. I am very happy with its performance and trust the company that makes this product.
