Undoubtedly the worst UPS purchase I have ever made! The unit failed twice in the first month, and of course it was after Best Buy’s very short return period. So I contacted APC. They told me to turn it off when I left the house. That’s utterly ridiculous advice for a UPS, the purpose of which is to keep power on. APC refused to honor the warranty until I threatened to write their corporate headquarters, and then they only agreed to send a battery. Never again will I purchase any APC/Schneider Electric products, and I will be very careful what I purchase from Best Buy.

Had this thing since Jan '22. Just had a power outage yesterday. While the system ran on backup power (just powering my internet router and mesh device) the unit produced some really bad smells during the ~2 hours it ran (like a burning/metallic/acid smell) that filled up my closed office room. I can't imagine that is normal since I've owned many other UPS and never experienced similar smells during operations. I wouldn't recommend this device, seems like a potential health/fire hazard. I'm replacing it with another brand.

You don't have to spend thousands, but it will save you thousands.

Bought 2 of these to replace the older model and its a great upgrade.

This UPS gives off a low chirping sound every few seconds. I saw a response from APC claiming that it was a known issue and they had fixed it. My unit still has that. I contacted customer support, but got no help whatsoever. I was given a set of steps to do a self test. I realize that the CS reps have to follow a script, but if this is a known issue, do I really need to do these irrelevant steps? After doing the self test and getting a result saying everything is fine, the CS rep responded, "I am glad I have been able to resolve your issue ..." This issue has not been resolved and now I get no response from APC. I have many APC units now, but I can't see buying more.

Best ups in its class. Very easy to use and sturdy construction.

Battery operated for 2 months, then went to run on battery power when there was no outage and into permanent FO2 mode where alarm won't stop. Best Buy past return period, their service department was NOT helpful. Called APC support and they WERE very helpful. Sending a replacment battery. Assuming new battery works longer term, I will update the review.

This APS seems to working better. The initial one purchases died less than a day.

Well-made product. Works well. It has come thru for me during a few power outages.

Adequate for small computer. A bit underpowered for a gaming computer. Awkard battery installation , was better on older units.

I bought this new, installed battery properly, and only charged its battery full once. A few months later, when a bad storm came and shut off the power, I turned it on. Battery was dead even though I've never used it. The machine would not charge the battery even though it was plugged in for hours. I disassembled it to see if anything on the circuit board was burnt; everything inside looked fine. I know the battery couldn't have been dead. I used wires to connect the positive with the negative terminals and got a spark, so the battery had electricity. At least I got a battery I can use for later.

Love the 10 outlet system. My other one stopped working after 2.5 years. Hope this last longer

Does the trick and usually offers around 5-8 minutes of playtime for a gaming computer if you have short power outages.
