The battery in the unit died in 2.5 years. Product claims parts have a 3 year warranty. APC Support claims that the battery only has a 2 year warranty. Genuine battery cost a fortune, so I replaced with non genuine for about $40 and that seems to have worked fine. As far as I will ever be concerned, APC does not support their warranty.

HATE the high pitched whispy chrips noises every 5 seconds. It's not the screaming chirps when power is lost, it's very quiet, but it drives me crazy. I have purchased 2 of these units new. Returning both. My office has wood floors and is extremely quiet. Perhaps some people wouldn't notice - especially in standard office with carpeting and competing noises.
