Great Protection and Power Backup Module

Purchased to provide protection and sufficient backup power to allow a controlled shut down (in case of AC power loss) for a new desktop PC. Have had prior versions of APC backups and have only needed to change the battery pack every few years. APC's upper grade models (such as this one) will signal when it detects the battery pack needs replacement.

Sturdy, powerful, quiet, lots of outlets & ports and affordable! What more could you ask for? This unit replaced an older, smaller UPS and gives me two additional battery-backed outlets in a similar sized enclosure.

Working great still, 3 years strong and haven't had an issue so far. We use it to keep our PCs powered during outages since our grid isn't the most dependable

This backup battery has helped in numerous power outages, where I can get around four hours of continued WiFi connection with my router and modem plugged into it. The only problem I had was the loud beeping it emitted when it was in use, but that can be turned off with one button.

This battery backup allows multiple items to be plugged in for both surge and battery protection. Currently it is protecting a desktop computer, a 32" monitor, an LCD TV, and a PS4. We have "dirty" electricity and experience multiple surges each week; however, I know my expensive electronics are safe with this UPS. Plus, in a power outage I have a precious few minutes to shut everything down properly and not lose my data. Just be aware it is very heavy.

I've owned multiple APC products over the years and they've saved countless pieces of equipment from damage during power surges and brown outs. Recently my area was hit hard by some storms that knocked out power to many of my neighbors. I picked up this unit from Best Buy and immediately hooked it up. The power went out the very next day so I got to test it out right away. I managed to get about 30 minutes from the battery which was really great. This unit was a bit more pricey than I was looking to spend, but it's been worth it.

After lightning took out my twelve year old APC BackUPS, I replaced it with this model. It works as advertised, but has one minor issue, and is missing one critical feature my old backup had. The minor issue... When the display on the front is on, the UPS emits a high pitched whine, audible from several feet away in a quiet room. I'd exchange the UPS if it weren't such a hassle, but it's likely they all do this. I have the display set to shut off after a few seconds to avoid the issue. The missing feature... My old APC UPS had a master electrical socket on the back that controlled a bank of other sockets. I had my PC plugged into that master socket, and when I turned off my PC, the UPS turned off that bank of other sockets. I had my external speakers, DAC, and headphones amplifier plugged into those sockets, and when I shut down my PC, the UPS turned off power to those devices. That was a handy feature I will miss. By the way, APC suggests replacing the batteries every three years. From experience, they will last at least twice that long. I don't replace mine until the UPS fails a self-test. Recycle your old batteries when you replace them. My old UPS gave its life protecting my computer, expensive digital piano, printer, etc. from a severe lightning strike. That's my main reason for having a UPS. Thanks, old UPS. You will be missed. :)

    Reliable Power

The APC Back-UPS Pro are wonderful ways to protect electronic devices from power surges as well as unexpected power outages. I go a little bit too far with the battery back-up units and have more than a dozen around the house. I protect all of my computer equipment as well as my TV/video system. I have a projector and it came with a warning, do not unplug the projector while it was operating, or it is possible that the bulb could be damaged. I was there when someone tripped over a cord and unexpectedly disconnected power to a projector at a trade show class and within a few seconds, there was a "POP" and the bulb exploded. I was watching a movie on my video projector when power went out. The UPS automatically kicked in and prevented any damage to the bulb; the bulbs are very expensive. I have also been able to do controlled shutdowns of my computers when power was unexpectedly lost. If you have a UPS and it saves one nice piece of electronic equipment or allows you to save the work you are doing on a computer rather than loose progress and possibly have corrupted data, I feel it is very much worth it. Just be aware that you will usually need to replace the batteries in the UPS about every 4-5 years.

The #1 best purchase of 2023. If you don't have your pc on one your risking a lot. Its expensive but dam is it worth not having to worry your computer or other devices will explode due to a bad power strip. The added time before blackouts is great as well.

It's only been connected for about a week but so far it's working well. We have random power outages over the summer, so this is much needed. Very easy to set up. I love all of the extra outlets and especially the outlets for oversized plugs. I like the power indicator, so I know it's always on. My last UBS had shut itself off and I didn't know. Computer crashed (screwing up my main drive when the power suddenly dropped). I still need to try the Powerchute software features next.

I purchased this item to replace a 5 year old failed cyber power unit that decided to quit on me and fail a battery swap I tried to conduct. This unit was simple enough to setup and I had it up and running and in place within minutes of unboxing. No issues turning on and getting online to protect my home entertainment center.

I have had a few of these tower UPS units over the past decade or so. The only problem I ever had was a power relay on the UPS that this UPS replaced. After about 10 years, that's ok. And that UPS still works, just complains once and a while. There are plenty of outlets, good power display, and I expect to get good life from the battery. So I continue to be happy with APC

Rock steady performance, built tough and light enough for the top of the desk. Easy to read instructions and phone-tech support. This APC back-up has kept me up and running without even a screen flash or temp log-out. Been through many power downs and APC does what it says it will do! A must-have all the way around. Easy to operate menu-screen and flawless operation for going on a year now...

After four power outages one week, I decided to quit putting off reinvesting in a battery backup for my equipment at home. They function as a battery backup and surge protection. Good surge protection is a cheap insurance when it comes to high end electronics. This is about the highest end UPS you can get in store. APC is in my opinion the best brand on the market when it comes to UPS. I've have dealt with them for a few decades now. A few other brands may be cheaper but they don't have the same level of quality and this is one of those things that you really don't want to skimp on. The unit itself has what are basically two 12 volt 1.7 amp batteries in it. These need have an instruction sticker removed and one terminal plugged in after unpacking the device. This is pretty easy in that the side slides off and then back on once connected. This doesn't require any tools to do and only needs to be done the one time. Once the battery has been connected you are ready to plug it and your devices in and go. The device itself has a LCD display and can be manually cycled through a handful of displays showing voltage output, load, and estimated battery life. It also allows the power outage alarm to be muted and remembers its state from one outage to the next (This feature is a God send) the display also goes dark (sleep) after a while which is nice so it's not visually distracting. We bought a few of these including one of these for my elderly mother's motorized reclining chair since it's almost impossible for her to get out of the chair when fully reclined should the power go out. We plugged her chair, cell phone charger, tablet charger, and landline cordless phone base station into one of these so I dont have to worry the next time the power's out for her. She'll be able to go up in down in the chair way past most outages now. The time remaining on battery backup on these is a best guess by the unit and is based on current load and the charge left. Without anything pulling juice from it the display will read something like 347 mins. With my desktop PC, a roku, soundbar, and a 55" TV it looks like I'll get between 30-45 Mins. Certainly more than enough to make it through any blips or short outages. So far I've been very pleased with these. They are well worth the money.
