Posted .Thank you for your interest in our products. Our BN1500M2 UPS really aren't designed to run heaters What is made for is computer or network type equipment usually home electronics like your computer or TV are connected to them so that you can gracefully shut them down. You would want to make sure the heater draws less than 15 amps of power so it doesn't overload the unit which would be really close to the capacity of the UPS it can support load of 900 watts sustained for 3.7 minutes only or in an impulse not damaging inverter upto 1500 VA anything more can damage inverter or trip internal breaker.

Failed after 2.5 years.

Turned off the unit as it wasn't going to be used for 2 weeks. Turned out to be 8 weeks. It won't turn back on. Should have purchased the extended warranty.

Defective/Noisy

This APC makes a continuous, faint but very audible screeching-whining-sound. It's not the alarm, it's the electronics in the unit itself making the sound. My other one does not do this at all; it's clearly a defect in the new one. Back it goes, and I'm going to see if I have better luck with a different brand.

Worth It

Fails shortly out of warranty

APC customer service only remedy would be to buy another one. I don't reward companies whose product service life doesn't meet expectations by purchasing more of their products. I would understand if it was just a battery replacement, but now the whole unit is useless.

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review one of our products. We appreciate the feedback and we are sorry to hear about this issue. An F06 or "Relay Weld" may occur when excess voltage travels across the internal contacts of the mechanical relay. As much as we want for our units to last, there are external factors that contributes in the field which are beyond our control. Given that our Back-UPS Pro units comes with a 3yr factory warranty only, and if you plan to keep them longer than that, it maybe wise to opt for an extended warranty. You can extend the warranty of your UPS from 1 up to 3 yrs and they are typically cheaper rather than purchasing a new UPS. Do take note that it will only be applicable when you current factory warranty is not yet expired. Links are below:

Shuts itself off for no reason

It has randomly shut itself off on two occasions that I have observed. Connected devices lose power when this happens. No power issues in my unit / building. Load on unit is typically less than 20%. Called APC support and wasted almost an hour on repeating questions , irrelevant questions, and an allegedly broken replacement ordering system. This unit is going to e-waste and I'm going shopping again.

Im sure it works as advertised but I did not keep it to find out.

Fire Hazard

At Schneider Electric we take customer concerns very seriously and as so, our Quality Engineers monitor the products' performance in the field very closely. At this time, there are no known field issues related to the BN1500M2 model that have been cascaded to our technical support team. We assure that our units are being tested before they are released for sales. As long as this unit is handled following the instructions and used within its intended purpose, then everything should be fine.
The F02 error is normally triggered if there is an overload or excess current from load that UPS cannot handle or an internal short on UPS.
Now if in case of a failure, we also assure you that our skilled Technical Support Representatives shall be here to help troubleshoot and/or replace as necessary as this unit is covered with a 3 year warranty.

poor quality

Failed after 19 days of installation.

Cannot return to Best Buy because of 15 day return policy. Followed instructions for installation to the letter. No way to check for failure symptoms because the "display interface" does not work. Cannot power off with power on/off button. Will not purchase this again. Very discouraged with quality.

Unit failed after 3 months of light use

Then the battery disengages and it goes back onto line power only to immediately flip back to battery. It does this in a continuous cycle. The unit is only 3 months old.

Not Impressed, Sorry I bought it

My go around is to reset it each time I use the computer. It's very annoying to have to mess with it for 10 minutes just to turn on the computer.

Didn't last

I bought one late December last year and it completely died this July. And I had to reset it a few times just to make it last this long. Don't take chance on this brand. CyberPower (what I used previously) lasted much longer.

A great little UPS to cover my homelab.

With the ability to connect the server to the UPS for battery monitoring and automated shutdown. Also the mute button on the UPS is front and center which is great if you don't want to configure it via the application. For me the fact I got the linux working and detecting the UPS with limits on when to shutdown automatically is a huge bonus as it limits the chances I will have corruption, and with the ability to read the battery state it won't shutdown at the first blip but can power on during smaller outages, of with my hardward connected I got 42 minutes before it decided it was time to shutdown, which is great in keeping the internet alive, though honestly if it goes more then 30 minutes it will be a few hours, but the fact ti will survive slightly longer outages is great. Overall this is a great homelab/workstation level UPS to give you battery survival. This overall is a great UPS to cover spotty power during storms etc. This is a great choice.

Could not get the same as old one so, try this one. Working very good battery were almost at full charge, when I got it. Took bit to set the monitor to stay on. Brighter than my old one I like that.
