    Best UPS

I have used a lot of APC's leading competitor's UPS, but after two of them died premature deaths (their batteries died), I decided that I should try a different brand. I bought APC's UPS to give it a try and the first thing that you will notice is that their batteries come disconnected. The APC model is "cleaner" and the outlets seem easier to use (grippy without being too grippy). Even better, the APC UPS does not have one of those super bright lights that lights up a room even when the lights are off.

Use it for my mid-size, average workload PC. Handles that, my three monitors, and a lamp with power to spare. During a blackout, it saved me from losing my work.

I love the APC backup units! Battery can be replaced when it's needed. Good monitoring software for PCs ONLY and enough power ports. You even have a USB port on the front with an LED display with info.

    Long lasting during power outage

I have constant power outages and can't afford for my network to go down because of work. Recent power outage, this held up great. With router and modem only backed up, this lasted over 1.5 hours (until the power came back on) and still had another 30 minutes of power remaining. I had to unplug the TV and move that over to Surge only, because that thing (65 Inch LED) draws almost 300+ watts and would only last 15 to 20 minutes. I can watch TV on my tablet.

A name to trust in battery backup

This is the largest capacity gps seen for sale on most consumer sites. It has one USB A port and one USB C port on the front. The UPS has a datacable included and software that will track your power usage and activations. If your power local power is over/under voltage or you have blackouts this unit is for you. A high end gaming pc gets more than enough time to safely shut down in an outtage. These still use lead acid batteries because apparently that's still probably the best battery technology for this purpose. Replacement batteries will run you around a hundred dollars depending on if you buy regular or deep cycle batteries from a company such as batteries plus. I've had quite a number of APC products over the years and all have been good units. My current unit had been serving me for 6+ years and my newer toys can use the USB C port capabilities so I just went ahead and replaced it with a new unit. I'll probably use the old one on another computer or just keep it to charge the phone and tablets if the power goes out. Fortunately the new house in NC doesn't have near the power outtages I had in Pinellas County, FL but I still believe in having a UPS even if all it does mostly is catch power brownouts and surges. If your PC runs 24/7 a UPS is a good investment to protect your expensive components and your sanity.

First I give Best Buy 5 stars and I hope this expensive APC UPS lasts longer than the 450 and 650 UPSs. The smaller ones do not seem to last more than 2 - 3 years and they begin to conk out. In the old days they use to last for 5 years +. I do like the design of this Pro 1500 UPS and it seems to work very well. I've had it for 3 - 4 months and it does keep my PCs online with plenty of time to down them - without using APC software. I guess time will tell; I just hope it last longer than 2 or 3 years!!!

Awesome ups until the batteries age out. Replacement batteries are not a good value when compared to the sale price of a new unit.

Good - But There Is Room to Improve Functionality

Pros Easy set up. Easy to use. Not a space hog. Cons Even though it has 5 outlets for battery back up, because you can't turn the outlets to accommodate space guzzling power plugs, in reality I can't get the functionality I was hoping for. I am unable to plug in my WI-fi router (Netgear), but got the COMCAST gateway, Dell CPU and 2 Samsung monitors. That was rather disappointing. I am sure others have this issue too. You would think folks would design these so that it can provide backup for ordinary home office set-ups with most well known manufacturer's equipment! TEST, APC people - TEST!!! Maybe the next generation of devices will solve this problem.

Awesome little unit, I had an old 750 unit and it couldn’t handle the load from my new pc build so I got the 1500 knowing the quality of the product and I’m very impressed with how much sleeker it is with the vertical standing design as opposed to the old horizontal setup. It also has the convenient display so you can see the load and battery backup info. You do have to connect the battery before operating but it’s not too bad at all.

Tye Pro 1500VA provides all the features I could ever want to protect my in-home LAN and requirements for stable uninterrupted service for multiple pieces of equipment. The combination of protected and unprotected outlets allowed me to eliminate multiple extension cords/outlets givinging be confidence, enhancing safety and eliminating visual cord/cable disorder. I was so impressed that I installed two 1500VA in my home office to support multiple computers and printers.

Got me through a good rub sesh without having to break and go reset the breaker. Could have gone on another 40 or so minutes it said with my computer under load and my Fleshlight rocket blasting at full rpms. Only problem is it's on the better side of really loud. Like think in between the fire alarm at a school for the deaf and how loud you gotta talk for Grammy to hear your 3 seats down at a quiet dinner table. Lots of outlets in the back too, not very big, nice subtle look.
