APC has been protecting computers for years. Their UPS systems are reliable and easy to setup. I bought four of this model for a one bedroom apartment. They protect electronic gear during the frequent power outages. The large capacity keeps electronic equipment running longer. It also supports LED lighting. The UPS provides surge protected outlets. It can also protect your Ethernet and the line going to your cable modem (Spectrum etal). The USB ports can power a small light or fan. Prevent future agravation. Order an APC UPS and enjoy using some products while power is restored. And more important, shutdown computers without loosing data.

I really like this UPS, because it offered lots of power to run my devices for an extended period of time, coupled with the reliability of APC power protection devices (I had previously purchased an APC surge protector that I think is great). It also offers a lot of options for providing surge protection, plugging in devices with off-sized adapters, charging USB devices, and even for communicating with your computing devices so that they can monitor the state of your UPS and shutdown automatically before the battery in the UPS runs out. All of these features can be found in other models, from both APC and from other manufacturers, but this model seemed to offer the best combination of all of these features, which made my purchase decision easy.

Loving it. I've been running it for a month in a detached home office with some power fluctuations and it's working great. I love the display showing the capicity and wattage draw.

Desperately needed more UPS power for my network, NAS and a few other smaller devices and picked up this amazing deal. It's been phenomenal for me, plus some additional piece of mind in case we lose power this winter and need to charge other devices. Could not recommend it enough.

I got this to protect my NAS and so far it has worked great. The NAS has alerted me to power failures but was not affected due to the APC UPS. I like that I can glance quickly at the display and know that the unit is operating correctly. It was very easy to connect to my Synology NAS and the Synology software recognized the UPS without any issues.

Three easy steps: Connect the battery, plug it in, then plug in everything you want covered. There's an extra step I haven't done yet to install software on my PC that will automatically shut down my programs and turn the PC off in case of a power outage, but the power went out recently when my PC was in sleep mode, and I had several hours to attend to the beep (which I could hear from across the house). Love it so far!

Easy to set up. A nice improvement in unit appearance and screen display from my prior model. Bought this one to replace an older model that had a component failure (not the battery pack). Lots of outlets for plugging things in. Like the prior model, this one does its core job, kicking in when there are over- or under-voltage conditions from my home's electrical power. I am always extremely glad to have a unit like this when storms or other issues cause rapid on/off flickering of the power, which is horrible for unprotected electronics. Expensive, but IMO worth it. I consider APC the best of class for this kind of thing in the home.

I was so impressed with the first one that I bought another one. Good price, excellent performance. We have frequent short-term power outages and these two units keep things running until I can shut down the PC's & other equipment. Very nice front panel display.

Simple setup. You can put it to use within 3 minutes of taking it out of the box. It is a little heavy, but entirely worth it. The customer service behind them is also amazing. Since you get a warranty included with the product purchase, they are responsive and informative in case any damage occurs to your products plugged into the device.

The packing was fine. Unpacking and setting up was easy. The directions were easy to follow, and the UPS works as expected. I like the controls and it appears to be well built. My power went out the 2nd day I had the UPS. With a full battery charge it supplied power for about one hour to run my router, cable modem, telephone modem, 27" monitor, and Vtech telephone. It was also interesting to find out that the UPS automatically kicks in whenever I start my laser printer by sending it a print job. Probably because the inrush current to the printer is large enough to affect the voltage of the line that the UPS is connected to. I would buy this product again.

NOT designed for CPAP Sleep Machine Backup

NOT FOR CPAP Sleep Machine ResMed AirCurve 10 I have several smaller APC units backing up various devices in my home. They generally don't last longer than 30 minutes, but that is what they are designed for. Not doing any additional research, I figured that buying a more expensive APC would power my CPAP sleep machine (I have a ResMed Aircurve 10) for at least one night. I was wrong. I got just under an hour of power for my sleep machine (ResMed Aircurve 10) during the power outage on 07-08-2024. You can turn off the beeps on the machine, which is great, but the physical clicks are extremely loud, and they woke me up. As the power was cutting in and out - even when the lights stayed on - the APC was clicking on and off keeping the power continuous and clean. I think I am going to put a smaller APC on my sleep machine and/or find a battery backup designed for CPAP machines. Five stars because it is functioning as it should - just not for what I bought it for. It will ultimately move to my entertainment center to provide clean power/surge protection.

I was very pleased with the ease of setup and the features of the included Power Chute software. It was purchased for the purpose of saving work in progress and allowing a graceful shutdown in the event of power loss. After getting it set up and connected, I realized that it would provide the added benefit of keeping our router on line and providing charging ability for cell phones in the event of any outage that was less than about seven or eight hours. So that added functionality is an unexpected benefit. As of yet, I have not experienced a power outage so final judgment on its value will have to wait until I see how it responds to an outage.

1/3HP Sump Pump. Chirp with display only

I did calculations for a 1/3 hp sump pump and discovered that it equals 250 watts and a peak would be anywhere from 375-600 Watts. When I got home I was happy to discover that my calculation was correct in that the approximately 600 W on start up each time was easily covered by this machine. I would estimate that it would run at least 20 cycles of at least 30 seconds. At this price point I’d be very happy with that in emergency in my basement. I am somewhat disappointed that this Serial number that begins with 3B has the expected chirping sound. I discovered that it only happens when the display is showing. Since I have no intention of keeping display on all the time it is of no consequence to me. That is why I gave it four stars and not less. That being said I would highly recommend checking the serial number and getting the 4B rather than the 3B if this is important to you.

I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the APC Back-UPS 1500VA. In a world increasingly dependent on consistent power supply for devices and systems, this unit is an absolute game-changer. Firstly, the 1500VA capacity provides an abundance of backup power, efficiently sustaining my home office during several power outages. The built-in surge protection has proven invaluable, shielding my expensive electronics from unpredictable voltage spikes. The unit's seamless integration with my systems is noteworthy. I am particularly impressed with the PowerChute software that provides automated, unattended shutdown, ensuring data preservation and system integrity during extended power outages. Furthermore, the design of the Back-UPS 1500VA is appealingly compact, fitting conveniently under my desk. It has a user-friendly interface with an easily readable display that shows important stats such as remaining battery life and load capacity. What sets this UPS apart is its ecological efficiency - the Green mode reduces power consumption by bypassing unused electrical components, aligning with my values of energy conservation. Finally, I must commend APC's excellent customer service, which has been responsive and helpful whenever I had questions. The 3-year warranty and $200,000 connected equipment policy offer an extra layer of reassurance in my investment. In conclusion, the APC Back-UPS 1500VA delivers on its promise of reliability and performance, providing an exceptional level of power backup security and peace of mind. Highly recommended for anyone needing a high-capacity, high-performance UPS. It is indeed a 5/5 star product.

Bad button placement for 617 million people.

Did you know that almost 10% of humans are old? That means that having a power button that is difficult to press (due to being low to the ground or recessed) means that when this thing starts beeping because the battery is depleted it’s unnecessarily difficult for my customers to press that power button. some of them use a cane for walking and they can’t easily press the power button with their cane because it’s slightly recessed. Having an easy-to-press power button at the top of the unit is an ideal configuration.

APC is the leader in UPS. I have bought a bunch of different brands in the past but usually come back to APC. The quality and features are well worth the slightly higher cost. I like that this one has 6 battery backup outlets which is critical since I run triple monitors. This has more then enough capacity for my workstation. A nice touch is the built in USB and USB-C charging ports, this is really convenient to charge up my phone recharge my keyboard and mouse. The one thing I would like to see is for the USB-C port to be power delivery so I can charge my laptop. it is only a 15W total output for the two USB ports.

this has been great. We have a number of short power outages. This keeps our modem and wifi running. So, we don't need to reset things when the power goes it. It is very convient. The best compliment I could give is that I don't notice we have it.
