Classic war movie!! A must see movie and a must have in your movie collection

Great war movie about Vietnam . Excellent acting , one of Coppola`s best .

The original theatrical release, plus Redux, and then the documentary by Francis Ford Coppola‘s spouse, providing fabulous insights into the making of Apocalypse Now. What’s not to like here? As Robert Duvall’s character , Lt. Col. Kilgore entones, in almost wistful despair, at the end of his oft-quoted monologue about the virtues of napalm, “You know, someday this war goin’ to end”. Fortunately, with two discs to savor, that moment takes awhile for the viewer to reckon with. And of course for my generation, the tragedy of Southeast Asia, 1945–75, lives on. Coppola captures the madness tone perfect.

A must have for collectors. Looks great in HD. Great movie

Yes, this is a 3 disc set. Yes, it has Apocalypse Now, Apocalypse Now Redux, and Hearts of Darkness, but those features do not take up one disc each. Both versions of Apocalypse Now are on Disc 1. These are the full versions, NOT broken up like they were on The Complete Dossier! Commentaries on the films. Disc 2 is Hearts of Darkness with commentary by Eleanor and Francis Ford Coppola as well as a storyboard gallery and marketing archive. I have not seen in either the product description or reviews about any special features. That's Disc 3. There are a lot of special features on here. I'm not going to list them all, but many of them were on The Complete Dossier, but there are a lot of new stuff on here too. So the Full Disclosure Blu-ray is definitely worth the price and deserves a place in your library.

Never saw this film before. Good chance to finally watch it at a good price.

Great movie. Like getting the two versions together and the feature length documentary is worth the price of this set by itself. The making of this movie is at least, if not more interesting than the movie itself. Brando was certainly going off the deep end at this point and the documentary shows it. If you want to really see what he can do to a film, check out the Island of Doctor Moreau documentary sometime. Crazy stuff. This set is certainly worth owning and I enjoyed the redux version, which I just watched for the first time.

Aside from the original, brilliant theatrical version of Apocalypse Now, this also includes the longer "Redux" cut (which includes scenes that aren't very necessary but are certainly at the very least interesting). But, more than that, the excellent "making-of" document "Hearts of Darkness" is also included, which is an incredibly rewarding look at this amazing film (much of which was shot during filming, catching unexpected and candid glimpses at the turmoil behind the scenes). A great purchase.

the deleted scenes are the big thing, and so is the directors cut, these where never seen by the general public and had a new spin to the movie. This movie went way over budget in those days. Incredible realistic no computer movie for a war buff even shown in schools when compared to the heart of darkness book

I've always thought Apocalypse Now is a fantastic movie. I prefer the original theatrical version to the longer Redux version, but both look stunning on this Blu-Ray disc. Hearts of Darkness, on the second disc, a feature length documentary about the many, almost endless difficulties encountered by Coppola while filming the movie, is well worth watching. Highly recommended set.

I have been looking for this movie before and haven't seen to find it except on Amazon or on Best Buy online, so wasn't a priority to buy. Once seeing the physical copy at the store and at a good price of $17 for both versions (original and redux) and the making of documentary all on Bluray, I was more incline to buy it then. Definitely worth the wait!

This is a great value getting both the original and redux versions of this movie on one disc. I've watched them both and found the visual and audio quality to be very good. I didn't own the movie on DVD so I can't compare the blu to DVD but it's better than streaming it from Netflix. I didn't watch the documentary which is on a separate disc.

This is one if the most beautifully photographed films of all time, and this Blu-ray is the first time it has been released to home video in the proper original aspect ratio. Both versions of the film, and the remarkable documentary about the behind-the-scenes madness when they made it. A must-own for any serious film fan.

So good. I have everything from Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Band of Brothers, the Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Valkyrie, even more. But Apocalypse Now? The most gripping movie of them all.

If you couldn't get the full disclosure edition or need a good packaging of a bona fide classic, this is it. Vietnam hits hard with one of the best docs about filmmaking as a supplement.

A movie that shows the effects of war on the physch, this version has a lot of bonus content making it even more worth while. Conisdering that this is considered one of the greatest movies ever and at $10 do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Both versions of Apocalypse Now are great, with spectacular picture and sound on Blu-Ray. The documentary Hearts of Darkness on the second disc makes this package a bargain. It has long been out of print and used copies cost more than this package of 3 films.

My favorite movie about the Vietnam War, This is an absolute classic from Francis Ford Coppola. It includes both versions of of the movie as well as Heart of Darkness and the movie about the making of the movie. Well worth the money

I enjoyed this film in the theater a long time ago. It's been rejuvenated on home video for me to enjoy once more. I didn't see anything in the home video that I didn't see in the theater, however.
