    The movie itself is very interesting, telling the story of Apollo 13 and their struggle to get back to earth safely. But, the blu-ray transfer is not so great. I have the HD DVD of this movie, and it is far better than the blu-ray. Universal Studios decided that instead of using the same transfer, they boosted the contrast , noise reduction, and basically ruined the transfer to blu-ray. I still recommend this blu-ray as the story is very good and well acted. Maybe this will be reissued on blu-ray in the future.

    Tom Hanks is good at this film coupled with spectacular special effects and suspenseful space drama. You got to see it in high definition to fully appreciate it.

    One of Tom Hanks best films. I often find it keeping me on the edge of me seat even though I have seen the movie countless times. A great film for most all ages.

    Tom Hanks does a great job as always. While you knew how the movie would end it was still suspenseful. The scenery and the backgrounds were great.
