The 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray release of Apollo 13 makes Ron Howard's stunning Oscar-nominated drama that much more stunning with, for all intents and purposes, a perfect 1080p encoded video presentation created from a 4K remaster using the film's original 35mm elements. Add to that an excellent DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track and a solid supplemental package (with a newly produced filmmakers' retrospective) and you have a must-own release of Apollo 13. This isn't a double-dip. This is a re-release done right.

1995 - I was too young to fully appreciate this film, 2020 - It’s in the pudding.

The blu-ray version was very good and I could not resist buying the 4K upgrade. I was not disappointed.

The 4K upgrade definitely brings the best from this movie. You cannot tell it has been more than 20 years!

Apollo 13 brought the tale to a new generation and led to a whole new set of publications and films focusing on the Moonshot mission that included Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. The true story is almost unbelievable and is brought to film with great realism here. 25 years later still an incredible watch with Tom Hanks giving one of his best performances following back to back Oscar wins.

This movie is almost 20 years old and the special effects are still unbelievable. It actually LOOKS like a real take-off to the moon. The story line seems to stay quite close to the real events. Sometimes it takes a movie to see how close these space hero's came to not making it back to earth, not to mention being able to walk on the moon. Excellent all around movie says it all. Sorry all of the cast is no longer with us though.

This is a great movie and we watch it all the time. we have two copies. But the 4K is much better for this type of movie. My husband loves this movie and my son also.

A classic movie now even better to experience in Blu-ray.
