I wanted to keep two chargers available so i purchased an extra adapter and power cord. I have to replace the power cord every year due to the children's bending of the cord and the wiring showing through. Ordering from a mail order site you get a cheaper cost, but you run two risks. One, it may not be the right item for your tablet. And returns are a hassle. Not so at Best Buy. Two, it may not be an official Apple product that can hurt your device. I was in a hurry..it was in stock at Best Buy in the Apple department. That's where I could dream of the Mac Daddy!

This converts the power and regulates the charge to the iPad. I needed one and it's fine. I don't have a lot of WOW praise for it. It does what it's supposed to. I tend to stick with Apple products for use with Apple products. That makes them expensive, but dependable at least. It's a power adaptor. If you need it, get it.
