This adapter is able ro charge my iPad rapidly and without heating up. Other adapters would fail in the charging and become so hot I would have to unplug and allow it to cool down before recharging.

It was taking too long for my iphone to charge. A friend recommended that I purchase the Apple power adapter. I did and my phone caharges in half the time. Also the prongs fold up into the charger so it is easier to carry. I can also use to charge my ipad.
