It is a plug. Just like every other Apple plug. I bought it because my new Apple 13 charges SLOWER than my old Apple 10 XR if I use the normal USB plug. New apple phones don't come with the as many charging accessories, so you need to buy it. Argh. Charges a LITTLE faster with the USB C than the old USB plugs/cables.

Seems to charge a lot faster than the smaller ones…just hate how Apple doesn’t include them with anything anymore…got lucky and got one with my phone but wife didn’t and nothing seems to come with one…sucks paying that much for a phone or anything anymore and not getting the part that goes into where electricity comes from lol

It’s hard to review something that Apple puts you in the position of having to buy I bought a brand new iPad Air and there’s no way to charge it unless you add the additional $20 for this adapter so it might be a great product but I think Apple is just aggravating people by doing that when you buy a product you you should be able to use it it Right out of the box especially for those prices

Did not know that I already have the same adapter, and only found out after receiving the product. I'll keep it for spare, rest assure that Apple products = quality. Buy quality product is one way to protect your expensive electronic gadgets like iPhone.

Love the new power adapter. Sooo much faster then the fist generation ones. My iPad can now be fully charged in well under and hour and I can almost sit and watch the iPhone as it recharges.
