Make sure you don’t use the old square Apple plus. Also I HIGHLY RECOMMEND always using authentic Apple charging products when you’re charging Apple devices. Off branded stuff can cause problems with battery draining and just overall not worth saving a few bucks

Do I think it should be included with iPhone 12 absolutely. But nothing you can do about it so just happy it works well. Hope it holds up

However, I bought a couple of these when they were on sale. You wont find these in the Apple store on sale so when the price drops inside Best Buy, you jump on it!
