It takes power from the wall and converts it to a level usable by my phone and other Apple devices. It takes the crazy 120V coming out of the wall and sends out a usable 5V/3A or 9V/2.22A. It's like witchcraft or magic. /sarcasm Yes, it does the job I expected it to do.

The Apple Power Adapter is the best!

USB-C Power Adapter

I was out of town and needed to charge my Apple watch. I forgot the original one and needed one for travel. Like all apple products I think it was pricey. Other than that it works great. I'm not a fan of Apple asif you buy a new one you have to buy all new accessories. I have different cords for-everything.
