Good apple quality... but expected more

But... really expected more in the performance area from apple here. Windows PCs in a similar price point operate more efficiently in terms of memory usage. 8GBs of memory gets used up pretty fast on this guy. We are an apple family. I am using as a family computer and thought it would be cool to have the other 4 members of my family use with their own logins since we all have our own apple IDs and could leverage the custom features that come with using their own ID. Well, having multiple folks logged in and using the "switch user" feature instead of logging in and logging out each time brings the system to its knees. Really wish upgrading memory was an option. But, using with one login, all is good. I would recommend for anyone not really caring about the apple ID features for each user, but thats kind of a big one for me...

Nice IMAC but lacks DVD/CD player

My two quibbles are that it does not have a DVD/CD player slot, and sometimes when it boots up the screen does not load immediately; only 75% of the screen saver image is visible until it completely loads after 15-20 secs.
