Got this because I needed one for my mom's car. Braided chords are def the way to go, especially in a car where the plastic ones tend to stick out awkwardly and get the way. This one's double the length I needed in the car (I didn't pay attention when ordering), but was able to swap it out for a shorter braided chord I was using at my desk, so no harm done.
