well everyone loses or misplaces their iPhone charger at some point. i was one of these people who misplaced theirs and didn't seem to bother about it until an upcoming trip had reminded me of its importance. well luckily the price for a charger is not as ridicules as every most important thing that you really need but can't afford at the moment. This is a reliable, portable, and the best original affordable charger you can get. Stay true and stay original. I do recommend this.

Apple cables seem to work best with their products

I've used generic cables before, but they haven't been as effective with charging on a consistent basis as with ones actually made by Apple for charging my iPhone using either AC current or USB

I have purchased various Apple compatible products over the course of Apple ownership. Not all compatible products work as the plug may fit, but the Apple product will know right away if it isn't certified. Needless to say this purchase was worth the extra cost. Never buy somethig that isn't certified. This works well.

I've tried a few less expensive knockoff cables and I've since returned to buying the expensive Apple cable. The third party cables I've had quickly break near the lightning plug. I would love to find a good alternative, but for now it's Apple for me. Immediate availability at local Best Buy and easy online ordering also helps.

I hate that Best Buy hides the official Apple lighting cable in their stores. It seems like the Phone section is overwhelmed with 3rd Party brands like Insignia, but there's a good chance they still have the Apple branded cable amongst their computer accessories. The 3' cable is shorter than what came with your device, but actually works better when connecting your device to your laptop or usb port located directly on your desk. There's not a loy of extra slack getting in your way.
