I've tried the other brands and none hold up and function as well as the genuine Apple cords. I highly recommend you spend a little more up front to save long term.

Genuine Apple cable. Works like a charm in my car. I've had too many third-party cables fail on me, but the Apple ones only fail when they fall apart.
