    I purchased cheap knockoffs before and they would always cause some type of issue. This is alittle bit more but it works everytime wihout issue.

    What more can I say? I have used cheap imitations in the past and have been burned. Sometimes the cheaper imitations stop working properly after Apple updates IOS. So I have mostly decided to stay with the genuine Apple product.

    My old car center console with the USB port didn't have a groove to bring the wire out so it got crushed. Over time, the exterior insulation wore off and able to see the bare wires on the cable. Initially fixed it with shrink wrap and heat gun until VW bought back my diesel and got a new car. Decided to 'improve' the patched appearance with new lightning cable. Before walking into Best Buy had resigned myself to purchase an off brand as Apple is premium priced. To my surprise it was on sale and cheaper than off brand!
