I have to buy replacements on a regular basis. Maybe my family has acidic fingers :) At any rate, it is a cable. Works as a cable should.

It works for my i5 phone with a Lifeproof case

It did not last more than three months before it started acting up. The iPhone was not being recognized by the computer. Once It bought the genuine article, it's been smooth sailing...
