Unfortunately, the 3rd party ones can sometimes be unreliable. Therefore, I'd recommend getting the Apple version, but only if you can find it at a substantial discount.

Great iPhone Cord

Most will not fit through the case. I skipped all other brands and when with the Apple brand. Saved me time from having a hassle. The cord is long enough and a great addition to keep in the car or in a bag while I'm out.
