    Apple cabling is usually poor quality; but it's tough to find Apple cables that transmit data AND power. Needed both capabilities and this was available and the right length.

    Spend the extra money for Apple OEM cables before buying non-Apple cords from gas stations or supermarket. If you are somewhat gentle with the OEM, it will last you way longer.

    works well - by buying the cable separate from the charger, if one item stops working you only have to replace that item - the cost is the same as purchasing a one-piece charger
