It works exactly as it is supposed to. I tried once to use a non-Apple cord and had problems with it not working. I recommend using the Apple cable even if it is a little more expensive.

Works As It Should

This connected right away. The cable that was replaced was not an authentic Apple cable, and I didn't feel like gambling on a new non-Apple cable. Glad I don't have to think about it anymore.
