Apple cords are always the best cords. I had been using an after market cords for Car Play with my iPhone but that cord stopped working for Car Play. So far I've had no issues with this cord.

Do not be fooled, there are others out there on the market but this is the gold standard for reliability. I can’t begin to say how many other cords have fallen flat or didn’t perform up to Apple’s standards.

My last one lasted 7 years. However, I forgot it in the car at over 100 degree the cable broke. I believe it lasted a long time and I got a new one. I do not by other brand. I always get the original.

When other brands don't work, get back to Apple! This charges works wonderfully and is worth the extra cost because it works--3rd party cords have not. Now if only the price would come down...
