    I purchased the Apple lightning cable after having the Insignia brand cable. Do yourself a favor and get the authentic Apple cable. My original cable that came with my phone had had the wires exposed but is still working. Bought the Insignia cable and they only made it a few months before they stopped working. These are significantly better!
