Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an Apple fan thru and thru but you get to a point where you have to call the fouls as you see them -- this cable is one example. I purchased it back in March and by September the coating is tearing and exposing the cabling on the inside. I reached out to AppleCare and explained what happened and they basically said that it is only warrantied against defects that you would be able to see right out of the box -- so the outside cable casing wearing -- which let's be honest, if you look up Lightning cables on their website they're all 1 star because it's beyond any consumer how the same company can design beautiful devices like iPhones or Macs that are known for their reliability and then turn around and design junk like these that's known for falling apart. For a company like Apple this is disheartening, frustrating and embarrassing that they would manufacture something like this and not even stand behind it.
