Stopped working within two weeks!

I had already thrown away the box because it worked the first week so I didn't think I needed it. Now, I don't know if I'll be able to return it. I wonder if this is a legitimate Apple charging cord? I decided to purchase the replacement for this through Apple because I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. Very disappointing Best Buy! I now know that the replacement cord from Apple costs less than this one.
