Best Buy had the original Apple cable in store, they sent me an email indicating when I could pick it up, and once at the store, they had all the checks and balances to ensure that I was the proper person picking up my item. The whole process was efficient. I was able to charge my Macbook fast with my new wire.

This is the original cable that comes with the 2021 Macbook 14" and 16" models. It is 2 meters or just over 6 feet and is braided. I like the light on the side because you can plug in your Mac while it is off, and it will turn from orange to green when it is fully charged. However, at $50, it comes out to over $150 for the OEM 140w charger that comes with the 16" models; an absolutely ludicrous price. What it comes down to is this. Are you okay with 96-100W charging? If so, just use a USB C cable with a 96W 20v ~5a adapter. If you really feel the need to fast charge at 140w, you will need this cable as the USB C ports on the Macbook are *only* capable of 100W, whereas MagSafe 3 is fully capable of 40% higher current at 140W. Although it is convenient, the 96w adapter paired with 2m c-c charge cable comes out to $50 less. If you plan on using the M1 *Max* chip, it can use over 100w in certain rendering applications, in which case absolutely do not hesitate to pick it up with 140w charger or it will discharge faster than charge. 14" or 16" with the "Pro" chip, shouldn't exceed 100w in any circumstances, so pass. If you don't have an extra 140w adapter to pair with this, don't bother. It's sole purpose is to allow more current than USB-C cables currently are rated for and will run you more than twice the price for the same charging speeds, unless of course you have disposable income and enjoy the satisfying *click* of MagSafe. I recommend it for the sole purpose of allowing over 100w charging for high power GPU renders only on the 32 core M1 Max. Otherwise, the only benefit is fast charging that most individuals will not need.

Thank you best buy, saved the day when I forgot my charger at an Airbnb. Got home, went to login to work and panicked. But best buy had this mobile order for pickup ready before the store even opened and i was able to get back to work quickly.

My cat destroyed my original cord. Luckily, we were able to pick this up and it works perfectly.

Does the job and seems like it's good quality. Apple makes you buy the whole charger, so it was nice to just be able to buy the cord.

Fast charging , cord doesn’t kink and is durable..

I love how it’s magnetic so it snaps into place really easily. I do wish the plug was at a 90 degree angle because it would prevent any bending of the cord and free up some space on the desk!
