The bulky part of the charger gets extremely hot. Make sure to leave this part of the charger on the floor or on a desk. I mainly work from my couch, so I've accidentally let it get sandwiched between a couch cushion and a pillow, which makes the problem worse. I think ultimately overheating is what causes the charger to stop worker, which is why I've had to purchase four over the course of the life of my laptop.

Love it. Expensive but that’s Apple for ya. The last one last me 6+ years, hoping the same for this one.

This adaptor will work well for you if you happened to lose the adaptor that came with your Mac -- or if like me, you desire to have a second charger down at the office. That way you don't have to drag one back and forth. Keep one on your desk in the office, one at home. Perfect. Adapt with the adaptor.

hard to find, but website search for different locations made it easy to locate one. apple is definitely proud of the item and demand high price for it. I do find the design innovative but can see that normal wear and tear will wear out the connection from the pc cord to the power supply box. I do like the option to remove electrical cord and connect the power supply directly to the outlet. great for traveling.

My dog ate my adaptor, I called apple and it is not covered under thte protection plan. I was able to purchase this at best buy. this is not the same wattage as the original but the sales associate assured me it would work fine. I have had this adaptor for about six months and works great!

The original charger lasted three and half years. For Apple products that is like a century. The price I feel is high but compared to their phone chargers that might last 6 months it would be considered a value. We easily found the item when we came into Best Buy.

Needed to upgrade my aging MacBook Pro power cord and this one here is a newer version of the MacBook charging and power cord combo,it works great and charges super fast

Had my original charger for 7 years before needing to replace it with this one. Was relieved to still be able to find it given how much apple changes their products to force new sales. Glad to find it at Best Buy.

My old charger that came with the MacBook pro stopped working. After looking around at the Apple store and seeing how expensive a new charger was there, I hit up my local Best buy and got this charger for about half what they wanted at Apple.

AppleCare has provided me with (3)Apple - 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter with Magnetic DC Connector - White. I did not have time to call AppleCare and found at Best Buy. Bonus, had an opened item. I am hoping this one last longer than the ones Apple has sent.

It's an apple product so it's what its supposed to be. Anyone who needs one should go on youtube and see what you should to to protect your new cord. your probably getting a new onen because of the cord, theres plenty you can do to keep this from happening again.

I bought this adapter because I left mine in another city I was visiting and couldn't wait for it to be shipped back to me. This adapter is better than any of the THREE I had to buy for my 2009 Power Book, but my preferred choice is the one that aligns along the side of the computer, rather than the straight in model. Expensive, but it is nice now having two, one for work and one for home.

I needed an additional charger for my travel computer bag and I like how it conforms to other Apple products if necessary (iPhone, iPad, etc) with the easily detachable power source.

I bought the power supply out of desperation. Me and my wife flew to Dallas, Texas and I forgot my power supply. Good thing there was BestBuy in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I call a store and the power supply was held for me to pickup. Thanks to BestBuy to save the trip.
