    My 5 year-old MacBook Pro's original power adapter's power line was getting rough and cracking. I didn't want it to become a fire hazard, so I bought this new Apple 85w MagSafe Power Adapter. Works like a charm. I was originally tempted to buy a knock-off version, but I didn't want to take the chance that it could not be safe for my MacBook. Sticking with Apple.
