It's a Apple magsafe charger - works as expected. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

I love Apple products, but I have to say their power supplies could be better engineered. This power supply looks nice, and the mag safe 2 connector is fine (although a bit more prone to coming loose than the mag safe 1). But there is one major stress point on this power supply: where the cord (that goest to the computer) comes out of the power supply. There is just not enough stress protection at this juncture to prevent inadvertent fraying, breaking and ultimately shorting. No wonder Apple has a whole support page on "reducing cable strain on your MagSafe adapter" (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201600).

Apple's original chargers are the only game in town for safe charging MagSafe2 devices, so there's not really much to say. However, unlike subsequent USB-C powered Macs and the latest MagSafe 3 Macs, the power brick of this generation has the cable permanently attached - so when the cable goes bad the whole brick needs to be replaced - online now when you can just replace the cable.

Wanted an extra charger to keep one at work and one at home. Works great!

Bought this as an open box, since the normal price is pretty high. These tend to have a fairly high failure rate (in the cord) after a couple of years. Works fine so far.
