I bought a charger online which was a lot cheaper, but it kept getting really hot to where you can't hold it for more than two seconds. It also powered off my tv and DVr because it was pulling too much power. So don't make the mistake of buying it somewhere else because it is cheaper. Buy it from here because it is original and you don't have to worry about anything.

Best Buy has sound reasons for putting Apple 'MagSafe' replacement chargers right at the front of the store. Of all the many Apple products I've owned (and used -- hard) since the late 1970s, the 'MagSafe' chargers for its laptops exemplify the very BEST -- and the very WORST of Apple Engineering. 1. The AC connector is the VERY BEST connector for ease of use, "bulletproof" strain relief and reliable longevity of any Apple product. Although replacement chargers come with a new AC cable, I'm still using the AC cable from the first charger for my 2006 17" MacBook Pro! 2. The DC connector/cable is the VERY WORST of all Apple products I've owned. They overheat, and the insulator material soon turns GREEN (Cu+ ions diffusing from the hot conductors) and gooey. Strain relief on the tiny MagSafe connector is basically nonexistent -- making connector failure a certainty. And that terrible cable/connector IS NOT REPLACEABLE -- forcing users to buy multiple replacements of the ENTIRE charger system. (I have bought six!! -- including six superb, still-new AC cables / connectors!) So -- SHAME on Apple for letting the abysmal MagSafe materials/design persist for decades -- and KUDOS to Best Buy for making replacement purchase as quick and painless as possible! My old adapter died and I needed one right away. Ran down to Best Buy and sue enough, they had one in stock. The salesperson made sure that I bought the correct wattage for my laptop. Good service, good product.

Although pricey, this plug works fine for all ipad and iphones

It's a little pricy but worth it since I can use my computer again!

I bought this power cord and charger to use as a backup and for travel. I haven't asked or wanted them to do anything unusual. For them to plug in where they're supposed to, and for them then to transmit power and to charge the computer, they work fine.

My 2013 early MacBook really needed one of these. The old one that came with the package lasted 8years even with heavy use. Hope this one has the same juice

The Cord is long enough and doesn’t get hot easily.

Don't buy any substitute - you always get what you pay for with Apple.

Standard power adapter for MacBook Pro, what else can you say.

Nice oem replacement charger for the original I received when I bought my MacBook Pro in 2013. Works great. Best Buy honored their price match policy when I showed an identical item from a qualifying etailer.

I'm not a huge fan of this Apple adapter because it breaks too easily, and this is the third I've had to buy in three years. That said, it's necessary (and I love my laptop). Finding it readily available and at a good price at Best Buy was a nice surprise.

This adapter gets the job done. Bit expensive for how long it lasts.

This works well. It's a bit bulky for travel, but no real complaints.

The cord is expensive especially considering they have not redesigned the point where it connects to the square magnetic part that goes into the computer so that it will not break in the future. Insofar as recommending it, well, yes, because you can't do without a cord and there's no alternative.
