    I would only trust using an apple certified power adapter. If you try to go off brand, you may not get compensated if there was an issue, so better safe than sorry.

    If you need a replacement adapter and cord and you will, because the wire rubber covering always comes off. I give it no more than a year and you will be replacing it. So, with that said, you have to buy an official Apple product. At least when you do it works properly not like those cheap off brand products.
