    The inherent flaw in this charger, and what required this purchase, is the thin cord that runs from the charger and connects to the computer charging port. Over time, the cord twists and kinks at the connection to the charger block, and that breaks and frays the cord. It is a design flaw that is uncharacteristic of Apple. While the charger works fine when the cord is undamaged, it remains the only option for Apple users. I recommend it only because of that.

    I've had my MacBook Pro w Retina for a couple years. The cord got frayed to the point that it stopped working. Had to get a new one. This one works!
