    I despise the price for the MagSafe 2 charger by Apple however in the same breath that's the cost you pay for to ease your mind. I don't trust any third-party- or off-brand manufacturer charger and the risk of it being faulty to charge my MacBook Pro. Aside from the price the durability is questionable: I had this charger for a month using it in office conditions and I'm still surprised by the scuffs and scrapes I've amassed. Point is just bite the bullet and be safe.

    The product purchased addressed the issue with my prior charger suddenly quit working. With my multimeter I determined there was a short in the magnetic end connector. That said, a replacement was needed as I didn't want to take the chance of trying to fix and short out my PC by fixing the old charger.
