I give it no more than a year and you will be replacing it. So, with that said, you have to buy an official Apple product. At least when you do it works properly not like those cheap off brand products.

Good replacement cord for Apple laptop

The cord broke where the adapter connects to the laptop. The original cord and replacement cord are made identically. Unfortunately, no reinforcement or modifications to the weak spot of the cord were made. I do not think I mistreated or misused the original cord. The original cord lasted 4 years. I hope this one last at least that long.

Lasts longer than previous models
