Not charging one or both headphones. Doesnt hold a charge somethings in the right one. The case battery percentage gos 1213415262415 sometimes and the airpods dont disconnect after being put in the case. Was playing music thru the airpods that were in the case. My first airpods and my last

There are two ways to compare the AirPods 4 ANC. One way is as an upgrade from the AirPods 3 and the other is comparing to the AirPods Pro 2. Compared to the 3, these are a significant upgrade. Sound quality has improved, the case has additional features, and battery life is on par with the 3. The case itself is noticeably smaller. I find the fit to be excellent and I like these better than the silicon tips of the AirPods Pro 2. Features like ANC and Transparency mode are new to the baseline AirPods. Considering that these don’t have a tight seal, the ANC is quite good. External sounds can still be heard, but are considerably muted…especially if the sound is a steady. Comparing to the AirPods Pro 2, the Pros have much better active noise cancellation, will have the ability to act as hearing aids, and the sound quality is slightly, but noticeably better. The controls on the Pros are more robust. The battery life of the Pros is better by about an hour or so. But the AirPods 4 ANC is more comfortable to wear for long periods of time for me. After an hour or so, I find the silicon tips to be a little irritating. I am very happy with the acquisition of my AirPods 4 ANC and I wear them in low volatility noise situations with great delight!

Controls are a squeeze on the stems for play/pause or switching modes, which is intuitive and glove-friendly, though I miss the volume swipe from the Pros. Sound-wise, they're a step up from older AirPods. The H2 chip delivers clearer mids, punchier bass (for open buds, anyway), and Spatial Audio with head tracking that makes movies and music feel immersive. It's not audiophile-level, but for podcasts, pop, or calls, it's crisp and balanced—no more tinny vibes. Call quality is excellent too, with Voice Isolation making me sound natural even in windy spots. Now the ANC—it's surprisingly effective for open-ear buds. It tamps down low rumbles like traffic or AC hums by a good 30-50%, and modes like Adaptive Audio blend it with Transparency seamlessly. Conversation Awareness is handy; it lowers volume when I start chatting and ramps it back up after. That said, it's not Pro-level—it won't fully block a screaming subway or jet engine, and some folks report ear pressure or headaches from it. Battery life is meh: about 4 hours with ANC on (5 off), up to 20-30 total with the case, which is shorter than I'd like for all-day use. Overall, if you can't stand in-ear tips but want Apple magic like Siri nods and easy switching between devices, these are awesome—way better than nothing for noise control in an open design. But if you can swing the extra $50 for AirPods Pro 2 (often on sale), go for those; the seal makes everything superior. I'd give the AirPods 4 ANC an 8/10—great daily drivers, just not perfect.
