These headphones are a major upgrade over the original AirPods Max. I skipped the first USB-C refresh, but this version finally feels worth it. The improved noise cancellation is excellent, and the new audio cable is a huge improvement. It connects directly to a standard headphone jack, unlike the thin proprietary cable used with the original model. Apple discontinued that fragile cable years ago, which made wired listening unnecessarily difficult. The old Lightning port could also be finicky when charging. The new connection works perfectly every time. My AirPods Pro 3 had started to rival my original AirPods Max, but these upgrades put the Max back on top. They are once again my first choice, and I expect to use them every day.

These are very sturdy headsets that have outstanding sound quality and top notch transparency mode. You can hear your music and clearly hear someone talking to you at the same time.

If you have other Apple devices, this is one of the best accessories for them. AirPods Pro are the most convenient, but these have the best sound.

Honestly, coming from the Sony XM series changing brands was a hard pill to swallow, but the main driver that made me switch is how nicely the Apple AirPods Max's connect to your other Apple devices, whether it’s a MacBook, iPad, or Apple TV, or just any Apple device. The switch is seamless; it makes it so you can pick up immediately where you left off and never have to constantly switch on and off the Bluetooth. Another reason I jumped is just the audio; it’s amazing. If you like music and working with your Apple products, I recommend you make the switch.

These are absolutely the best headphones. So much so, it’s the 2nd pair I’ve purchased. The noise cancelling feature is great and the over the ear is extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend.
