    Incredibly uncomfortable

The sound quality is great. Amazing really. If only I could wear them for more than 10 minutes. A full flight? Out of the question. They are heavy and incredibly tight in the head. They don’t get better with wear. Save the money and go with Bose or Sony.

Not worth 515$ at all! Sorry Apple just wasn't for me all though the noise Cancellation was 10/10 that’s about it

I gave the headphones as a Christmas gift to my daughter. She loves their style and quality. We are both very happy with the purchase!

Not a fan, returned Apple miss!

I Do NOT understand all the positive reviews for these headphones. Above all else the sound quality is mediocre at best with basically no ability to adjust EQ or improve in any way. Next flaw, they are incredibly heavy and uncomfortable. I have a very small head and felt like my noggin was getting squeezed. The earpad fabric was kind of hot and itchy as well. I wanted to love them, and was pumped that they would match my iPhone color, but I returned them for the new Bose Quiet Comforts. Major upgrade all around for $160 less!

not worth $500. it’s heavy and the ear cushion gets itchy. sound is not special. also there’s no on or off button so the battery runs out quickly without the case.

Not worth the money or hype

If you completely remove the whole noise cancellation thing from the picture, the sound of these aren’t any better than my AirPods (regular, not pro) or Sony over the ear ones. When they’re in noise cancellation mode I don’t even notice a better sounding audio quality. I also don't like the fact that they’re so heavy. They tend to slip if you move your head back or forward, such as while doing things around the house and bending over etc (I can’t even imagine using these at the gym!) so I’ll be returning. Not worth it to me.

Great sound quality && amazing base however the noise cancellation was NOT as good as AirPod Pros (which I already have). So I returned these and grabbed the AirPod Pros 2nd Gen.

    Heavy, ill-fitting, meh sound

I got these for working out and they are so heavy that it felt like my head was doing the weightlifting. I have a regular-size head but they don't adjust to a snug-enough fit - they actually fell off when I did bench presses. The headphone pieces were so big they rested (heavily) on my jawbone and now I have aches. The sound was just OK - my old Skullcandy pair has equivalent sound quality (and they fit better).

After owning a year I would never recommend

In the first month I would rate this 5 stars. After owning for a year I give 1 star. This is the most unreliable and difficult product Apple offers. It claims to update and connect 'automatically' it doesn't. This is not like other products - the iPod Pros are excellent. The Max should be discontinued.

Could be so amazing... if they lasted

The AirPods Max are probably the best headphones I've used, but unfortunately they break for seemingly no reason, and Apple is facing a lawsuit due to the design of the headphones causing condensation to build up inside the headphones. Mine failed completely outside of warranty -- I hoped it was just due to the battery not charging, but during a Genius Bar appointment they told me that the only option would be to purchase a new pair, or to pay $299 (plus tax)! to attempt to repair them -- they wouldn't even replace them for that fee, they will only charge that fee upfront to send them to attempt a repair... and if they can't repair for whatever reason (they couldn't tell me why that would happen or the chances that could happen) then I'm out ~$325 and would still have to buy a new set. This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous especially for Apple. I *strongly* suggest choosing a competing product instead.

Do not buy Open Box models ever

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I can’t express this enough: do not buy an Open Box unit of any Apple product. I learned this the hard way - I purchased these AirPod Max Open Box (Excellent) and they arrived still linked to the previous owner’s iCloud account. This means the original owner received an alert when I tried to pair them, showing them my exact location. This is not something that can be undone by Best Buy or Apple, and if you purchased the headphones on sale like I did, you apparently cannot exchange them for a non defective unit without paying the difference. One of my worst buying experiences in recent memory.

Sound quality is good, but that's it. The software is buggy, insane battery drain, and no off button. Everytime I pick these up, they're dead. I have to charge each time I want to listen to anything no matter how short. Don't buy these, please. I know you're a cute apple person and they fit your strange economic focused identity, but these are just awful.

Bought for my daughter for christmas. She seems to like them. They are a bit pricy. Probably wouldn't buy for myself at this price range.
