Bought it as a gift. He loved the over all quality. The battery lasts way longer than the regular AirPods and it last almost a week without charging of being used 3-4 hours a day. The sound quality is nice and the noise canceling literally cancels all the background noises.

The Good: build quality, Apple device integration, comfortable ear-pads, sound effects for TV & movie, weight management (it's heavy in hand, but the band helps a lot when put on head) The Bad (not so bad, just don't put your expectation too high): sound quality for normal music (okay but not WOW), initial clamping force (okay after two days) The ugly: the ODOR from the earpads and carrying bag is the worst among the numerous gadgets I bought in recent years, DON'T put your nose near them and breath when you first open the package. After 3 days, the odor was left. But Apple really need to handle this before shipping out!

I was hesitant at first, not knowing what the condition of the headphones would be. I’m glad I took the “risk” the headphones were flawless and still available for me to get apple care added to them. Sound is amazing from the headphones a little heavy but premium headphones. I’ve now purchased many open box, refurbished items from Best Buy and every time, the items have been great.

I have the airpod pros and loved them but wanted headphones like these for certain things so I didn’t have to worry about them falling out. I have bought a few different kinds of similar ones, but none of them compare to these. The sound quality is amazing. Headphones cover my ears perfectly unlike others. Very comfortable. Definitely worth the money

Never knew taking office calls on teams/Webex could be so easy! AirPods Max is definitely a great fit for what I wanted. Noise cancelling works considerably really well. Cushion provides pretty much the comfort needed for the ears. So far I never experienced sweat. Definitely worth a buy!

This is probably the worst Bluetooth headset I’ve ever owned. Already had one replacement, about to call for another. In two months. The first headset would fail to power on sometimes, there’s no power button to do it yourself. When it did manage to turn on, you would press the noise cancellation and notice a (sometimes 10 minute!) delay in response from the device. They sent a replacement set that fails to enter “pairing mode” and doesn’t connect to any device that isn’t apple. So I guess I’ll send off for pair three, but get ready to give them a cool $600 every time their terrible product breaks that they’ll refund you after you receive your replacement and they receive your old device. Bonkers. When the noise cancellation works, it’s great. The transparency mode is nice when you’re not waiting ten minutes for the headset to respond, LOL. Sound quality isn’t much better or worse than other high end headsets. Which, at this price point, I really expected. Man, the sponges. The “pop off absorbent pads” that (barely) magnetically seal to inside of your pro max eat cups get dirty, fast. Buckle up for a weekly cleaning routine for them and the mesh “handle” of your device that is now unusable for 24 hours following Apples cleaning instructions, if you can find them. The support documentation in the support app for the on device instructions (to ensure I was “entering pairing mode” correctly) hasn’t been updated from the AirPod Pros, even though the title is correctly listed as the max. Which is hilariously considering they’re earbuds and the pro max doesn’t have a button on a case to reset them The device switching: I was most excited about this feature, because I transmit to different devices all day long. Video conference on the MacBook, podcast or call on the phone. Shouldn’t take too much contextual info to make the swap-but it just never works. Pop a new teams video call and you’ll need to unpair and repair the headset from the Bluetooth menu on the MacBook, then reselect from your phone when you’re done. Love explaining to my team the 30 second delay in my ability to speak or hear them every meeting. So great. My old headset (not apple) did this flawlessly at < half the price. Give this hunk of garbage a hard pass.

The headphones are very good. They have a solid feel and have Apple quality. They are heavier than other brands but the sound and noise canceling is equal or better than the others. They work best with apple products to include the iPhone and iPAD but also can be connected to Samsung and other products. They are very expensive and I am not sure if the extra expense translates to a better product.

Greetings, fellow audiophiles and tech aficionados! Today, I invite you to join me on a journey through the highs and lows of owning the Apple AirPods Max, a pair of over-ear headphones that have been the talk of the town since their release. Let's dive into the details and see if these pricey cans are worth the hype or if they're just another overpriced Apple accessory. Design and Build: The first thing you'll notice about the AirPods Max is their exquisite design. The headphones come in a range of vibrant colors that would make even a rainbow blush with envy. The aluminum and mesh headband is both visually striking and comfortable to wear, although it does have a tendency to leave your hair looking like you just stepped out of a wind tunnel. One major design flaw is the lack of a 3.5mm audio port, forcing you to rely on Bluetooth or purchase a separate Lightning-to-3.5mm audio cable. This decision by Apple has sparked heated debates among audiophiles, with some claiming it's a step towards a wireless future, while others argue it's a ploy to sell more overpriced accessories. Sound Quality: When it comes to sound quality, the AirPods Max truly shine. The custom-built 40mm dynamic drivers deliver deep bass, accurate mid-range sounds, and crisp highs that will make your ears dance with joy. The noise cancellation is top-notch, effectively blocking out the cacophony of the outside world. However, the AirPods Max still struggle with mid- and high-frequency sounds, so if you're looking for complete silence, you might want to consider alternatives like the Bose 700. Battery Life and Charging: Battery life is where the AirPods Max truly excel. With a claimed 20 hours of battery life, you can enjoy your favorite tunes all day without having to worry about running out of juice. The headphones also support fast charging, giving you 1.5 hours of playback time with just a 5-minute charge. However, the inability to turn the AirPods Max off completely is a puzzling design choice, as they remain on for a few hours before going to sleep, draining the battery in the process. This means you'll need to remember to store them in their Smart Case to conserve battery life, which brings us to our next point... The Infamous Smart Case: The Smart Case has been the subject of much ridicule and meme-worthy content on the internet. Its unconventional design leaves the headband completely exposed, making it look like a purse for your headphones rather than a protective case. The case does put the AirPods Max into a low-power state, but its design leaves much to be desired. Spatial Audio and Head Tracking: One of the standout features of the AirPods Max is their Spatial Audio and head tracking capabilities. This technology positions sound all around you, creating a truly immersive audio experience. As you move your head, the audio adjusts accordingly, making it feel like the sound is coming from the screen in front of you. It's like having your own personal Dolby Atmos cinema, minus the sticky floors and overpriced popcorn. Price and Value: The AirPods Max are undeniably expensive, with a price tag of $549. This puts them in the upper echelon of over-ear headphones, and while they do offer impressive sound quality and innovative features, their premium price may be a deal-breaker for some. Conclusion: The Apple AirPods Max are a love letter to audiophiles and Apple enthusiasts alike, offering exceptional sound quality, innovative features, and a design that stands out from the crowd. However, their high price, lack of a 3.5mm audio port, and the controversial Smart Case may deter some potential buyers. Ultimately, the decision to purchase the AirPods Max comes down to your personal preferences and budget. If you're willing to shell out the cash and overlook some of their quirks, the AirPods Max will reward you with a sonic experience that's truly out of this world. Final Score: 8.5/10 Now, go forth and make your own informed decision, dear reader. May the force of great audio be with you!
