Super easy to set up on Apple devices. Sound is great. Comfort is pretty good. They’re made of metal so they are a little heavy. Noise cancelling is amazing.

The APMs are a decent first generation offering, but severely lacks what Sony and Bose offer at half the cost. No power button? Check. Lack of protective case? Check. No USB-C? Check. They sound great, feel great (if you can weather the weight over hours of listening), and if you’re not in a hurry to purchase them, I suggest to wait for the second generation APMs to address the shortcomings and more.

I was worried I would have buyer’s remorse after purchasing these but I couldn’t be happier. They are every bit of the quality you expect from Apple. They are extremely comfortable wearing all day long, and the sound quality is better than the air pods pro. I was also looking for a wireless headphone that I could use for meetings at work without distorting my voice like a lot of wireless headphones do. These are perfect and sound crystal clear. I’m regretting not buying them sooner!

I really love these headphones. The sound quality is great and the noise canceling works really well. I also like how easy it is to access Siri, which makes using them really convenient. Originally I bought them to use at the gym, but since they’re not waterproof I decided not to risk it. I also didn’t want to deal with using silicone covers on them. Now I mainly use them around the house while doing chores or just relaxing and listening to music or podcasts. Overall they’ve been great and I use them all the time. If you’re looking for comfortable headphones with excellent noise canceling, these are a really solid choice.

They are pricey, but for my use very well worth it. I work in a "open" office environment with a lot of cubes/desks so naturally a lot of "noise". These do a fantastic job of blocking out most of all the office noise and they work great as a headset for meetings. The mic doesn't pickup the ambiant noise and my voice is clear. The battery isn't too bad. I use them about 7-9 hours a day and can get about 3 days out of them before they start warning about a low battery. This wasn't a big deal as I will try and plug them in during lunch or meetings away from my desk.

I was undecided between the beats and air pods max. I decided to purchase the AirPods Max over the beats due to the noise cancellation option—after comparing the two. Although a bit heavy, they are still worth every bit of the cost. The quality and noise cancellation is the best I’ve experienced in terms of wireless headphones. You literally hear nothing with the feature on. The sound quality is great. Besides, the headphones being slightly heavy it makes up in quality and other characteristics I was looking for.

The AirPods Max are an exceptional pair of headphones that redefine the audio experience. The sound quality is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear highs, rich mids, and deep bass, making them perfect for everything from music to podcasts to movies. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is top-tier, effectively blocking out external sounds, creating a truly immersive experience. Comfort is another standout feature — the breathable knit mesh canopy and memory foam ear cups feel luxurious and ensure a perfect fit, even during extended listening sessions. The design is sleek and premium, and the build quality is solid, making the AirPods Max feel like a high-end product. The spatial audio and dynamic head tracking add a cinematic dimension to your audio, especially when watching movies or playing games. Additionally, the battery life is impressive, offering up to 20 hours of continuous playback with ANC and spatial audio on. Overall, the AirPods Max are a premium choice for audiophiles looking for unmatched sound quality, comfort, and design.

As much as I wanted to dislike this product due to the high price tag, I just can't dislike them. I already own the Sony XM4 headphones and had watched reviews on these. I saw mixed reviews. Some said they loved them, some said they were not worth the money. I really like my Sony's until I listened to the Airpods Max. Now...I can't really listen to the Sony's as I find the sound to be muddy and missing separation between things. The Airpods Max have such better separation and clear, crisp sounds in the higher frequencies. While I still feel the Sony's do have more "punch" at times, I know find that it is not clear and muddies the sound in the mid-range. The sub-base on the Airpods Max is so clean. The sound on the Airpods Max is great on bluetooth, but the sound is even better when connected via a cable and the use of a DAC. The sound is also greatly improved when listening to Hi-Res sources like Amazon Music HD or Tidal. If the excellent sound quality was not enough to sell me, the noise cancellation is certainly right on par with the Sony's, but they blow the competition away when is comes to the "pass through" mode. With other headphones, I found the "pass through" to be more gimmicky than an actual value. Some have implementations that make is useable, but the Airpods Max make is pleasure to use the mode. It is so natural sounding that I don't mind carrying on a conversation with the headphones on. That was the feature that had me completely sold. While the first portion of this give the headphones a rave review, I do have to mention the only part I hate about the headphones...the dreaded case! Call it a "bra" or a "purse" or whatever else is floating around out there, I really don't know what Apple was thinking. Outside of putting the headphone immediately into their "low power" state, there is nothing else of value with the case. It is ugly, not the easiest to get the headphones back into, and provides no protection for a product with a high price tag. There have been Apple products in the past I have questioned that have eventually become accepted (original Airpods)...I don't see how that can happen with this case. My recommendation is to check around on Amazon as there are already 3rd party options available that will offer the low power state. TLDR: These are the best sounding bluetooth headphones I have used, have tremendous build quality, work perfectly in the Apple Ecosystem, and have the best "pass through" audio mode I have ever heard. Look for an alternate case option.

As a headphone enthusiast, I wasn't very enthused with the announcement price of $550 for Apple's flagship headphone. The case is horrendous for the asking price and pairing them with an Android provides about as much use case as any other BT headphone you can buy at Wal-Mart. It's what these babies can do when paired to an Apple device that really adds some useful quirks. Right off the bat, transparency mode is the best of any headphone on the planet. It's simply mind blowing how good it is. Noise-Cancelling is not too far behind as well, besting even the Bose NC700. However, is it worth paying the additional $150-$200? If you can catch these on sale for over $100 off and have already integrated into the Apple ecosystem, I say go for it. Sound quality is good, however, they sound better with the wired cable.

The Apple AirPods Max are an excellent choice for those deeply invested in the Apple ecosystem and seeking high-quality audio with effective noise cancellation. While they come with a premium price tag and have a few design quirks, the overall experience they offer is impressive. They're particularly recommended for Apple users who will appreciate the added benefits of seamless device integration and exclusive features like spatial audio. With a 20 hr battery life I would say they’re pretty good.
