I was thrilled to find these at a discounted price as an open box product. They looked brand new and have performed flawlessly. The sound quality is incredible, and they proved their worth during a 6-hour flight. Active noise cancellation was outstanding, and battery life was never an issue. If you're part of the Apple ecosystem and willing to invest, this is an excellent purchase. .

The AirPods Max are Apple's first over-ear headphones, and they're a high-end product that delivers both sound quality and noise cancellation. They feature 40mm dynamic drivers, an adaptive EQ, and active noise cancellation, among the best on the market. The AirPods Max also has a comfortable design with a soft headband and memory foam ear cups. In terms of sound quality, the AirPods Max are excellent. They produce a wide range of frequencies with clear detail and accurate imaging. The bass is deep and punchy, while the treble is crisp and airy. The adaptive EQ helps to ensure that the sound is optimized for your ears, and the noise cancellation effectively blocks out ambient noise. The AirPods Max are also very comfortable to wear. The headband is adjustable, and the ear cups are soft and cushioned. They can be worn for extended periods without causing discomfort. One of the downsides of the AirPods Max is their price. They are currently priced at $549, which is more expensive than many other high-end over-ear headphones. These are fantastic. The noise cancellation and transparency is best in class. The case is weak but I think Apple did that on purpose to scratch accessory makers’ backs. I have a pretty technical ear and the sound quality is very good. I can’t compare it to dedicated headphone amps with actual audiophile grade headphones but I think these are punching way above their price point (which is to say it’s competing with $800-$1000 headphones). Also note none of those higher end options offer the same feature set as these. All music sounds great, but some genres and artists seem to sound better and cross into another dimension. Electronic music sounds otherworldly (Feed Me is an example of an artist that sounds incredibly good on these headphones). I have been listening to a lot of liquid drum & bass on these. Complicated compositions shine - you can hear each element of the track separated beautifully. Soundstage is wide and you can hear details you wouldn’t notice otherwise. When you find the right music and hit the noise cancellation, these really are an escape pod into another universe. That “Journey Into Sound” commercial is pretty much a dramatic example of what it’s like to use these. They transport you from reality. They are easy and satisfying to use. The build quality and finish is phenomenal. If you’re a casual music listener and don’t like to have long listening sessions then these may not be for you. If you don’t have any Apple devices that will work with these then you won’t get all the benefits but will still probably enjoy them, you may be better off with Sony or Bose. If you are the kind of person who loves to sit back on a day off and lose yourself in an album or a mix then you will adore these. Spatial audio is mind blowing but that’s just the cherry on top. These are a lovely personal listening device. If it’s in your budget and music is important to you then you won’t regret buying these.

I love the headphones, great sound and great color.

Bought these kind of expecting to return them since I love the XM4s I just got so much, but had to try them. I've now purchased the Sennheiser Momentum 3 and Bowers and Wilkens PX7s as well. The Airpods Max are in another class from the rest. The Sony's are the only ones that come close for all around but these are absolutely worth the upgrade if you have the money. There isn't one category besides price that these don't beat the XM4s in.

Best pair of headphones I ever owned.. the noise cancellation is sooo great.. I roomed with a snoring friend.. I put the headphones on With no music or sounds.. and I couldn’t hear his snores.. I definitely recommend these

I love these. The noise cancelling mode is perfect when uou need peace and quiet. Great for meditating , and obviously taking in content. I rarely watch movies alone hut they are great for that. Love using them on the plane or just at home rewatching some Star Trek. If you are in apple’s ecosystem, these are the headphones to buy. Pair with your iphone and use them anywhere else: your mac, ipad,  tv and watch. Its all seamless and the sound quality is great. I know that there are more premium headphones that maybe sound better but for me and my use, these are perfect and make my life easier and more enjoyable. I dont have to switch inputs or do any setup. Just put them on and enjoy.

I purchased these mainly to watch movies and for air travel (when I start flying again). I previously owned the Bose 700, and bought AirPods based on positive reviews knowing that I could return them if they didn’t live up to the hype. After using them for several days, I found them to live up to the hype and to be worth the extra cost due to the following reasons: (1) Comfort - AirPods fit better on my head and don’t squeeze as much. Plus my ears don’t get hot and sweaty since the earcups breathe. (2) Noise cancelling - With a better fit and larger earcups, I get a better seal which improves noise cancellation. (3) Ability to replace battery - unlike other wireless headphones, Apple offers a battery replacement program for $79. Not sure what to do when the batteries on Sony and Bose headphones start to wear out. (4) Apple Integration - Perfect integration and automatic device switching with Apple products. (5) Controls - I love the dial volume control much better than touch controls which are finicky and don’t allow precise volume adjustment. (6) Sound - I really prefer the sound over the Bose 700. Very balanced and no detectable distortion even at full volume. (7) No detectable audio lag when watching movies on iPad or Apple TV (Bose 700 exhibited noticeable lag) Yes, the Smart Case sucks, but there are a number of aftermarket cases available for around $20 that give total protection when storing in a backpack or luggage. A pricey product, but I believe you get what you pay for with the AirPods Max.

It's really good and has great noise consoling i would definitely recommend than other airpods.

These headphones SHOULD be, by far, the best headphones I've ever owned. Their build quality is excellent. They are solid, albeit slightly heavy, but very comfortable. The sound quality is excellent. I originally purchased specifically for Spatial Audio use with my Apple TV, and they sound fantastic for that. Shortly after purchase they became my main headphones because I thought they sounded better than any of the Sennheiser or Shure headphones I had used for years. These headphones should be a 5/5 … the convivence of my AirPods (pair once, use everywhere) combined with better sound quality than any of my previous headphones. Instead, they are a 1/5. Why? Because they pretty much never work. The AirPods Max were my 3rd pair of AirPods, and they worked exactly as you'd expect …. for about 4 months. Then I got a software update and the haven't worked correctly since. I purchased these in August of 21. In December they got a software update. Since then they simply don't connect correctly (or disconnect) which is also a problem. When you pick them up they turn on for a second and turn off. They just don’t connect about 80% of the time when you put them on, and they require a reboot, and sometimes (at least once a week) a reset and repairing. Once connected the won't disconnect, even when you manually tell them too in the settings. They will either reconnect to the device you are on, or some other device nearby that they can reach. Since they don’t fully disconnect, they don't go to sleep, so they are dead the next time you pick them up. Pretty much every time I want to use these headphones they are dead unless I plugged them in to charge. This is how they have operated for the last 2 years. At the same time, my AirPods and AirPods Pros have continued to work perfectly. The only issues I have with any of my Apple products have to do with these headphones. Software updates have not fixed them. Reboots and factory resets have not fixed them. Multiple calls to Apple support, where we have walked through every support article multiple times have not fixed them. A trip to the Apple repair facility, where they were deemed 'in perfect working order', has not fixed them. Given the overall reviews of these headphones it's likely I got a lemon. When they actually work, they are fantastic. However, Apple's refusal to do anything about it, sticking me with an expensive pair of headphones that don't work correctly is incredibly disappointing. If you buy these headphones return/exchange them IMMEDIATELY if they start acting up so you aren't stuck with a lemon like I am.

I am first to wake every day and like to watch movies. I miss having a dedicated theater room at our previous house and wanted to simulate some of the surround sound I had there without having out Atmos sound bar waking everyone. I’m very pleased with what Apple has done with Atmos and Spacial Audio with the latest AppleTV and these AirPods Max headphones. I now have a more more cinematic experience. I watched portions of James Bond No Time to Die and Spider Man Far from Home and both were greatly enhanced using these headphone. I just watched the new Dune again this week and I’m going to watch it again now. I was surprised how well the active noise reduction worked and that was really helpful for avoiding distracting sounds in my home this afternoon. With the quick press of a button I was able to switch that off and hear amplified room sound to have a conversation. I find the AirPod Max to be very comfortable. The case is nice for storing the headphones and charging them, but I would place them in a protective bag if I were carrying them outside my home. So these were a great buy and I have many uses for them, but I’m most happy with them meeting my needs for surround sound movie watching. Nice job, Apple.

I’ll start with a disclaimer — I’m fully committed to the Apple ecosystem. With that said, I’m disappointed with this product, and I’ll try and break it down into three big categories as a non-audiophile listener. Comfort: These things are heavy. That’s basically it. They. Are. HEAVY. You know they are on your head, you feel them anytime you move your head, and not in a flattering way. I was tired of them by the two hour mark. These things are about a 2/5 comfort for me, comparatively my go to QC35ii are a 5/5 and XM4s 4/5. Sound: Excellent sound, but as mentioned above, being a non audiophile listener, I didn’t appreciate much of a difference between the Bose, Sony or these. The bass is best on the Sony, if that matters to you. The sound IS excellent but I can’t justify the price difference for the sound alone given how similar they sound. Case: Disaster. Like iPhone 4 antenna gate bad. A case is meant to protect at its very basic purpose, these fail to do the bare minimum. Just awful. -1/5. Overall if you are in an apple ecosystem, I personally cannot recommend these. I think the comfort is a big point for me, and not everyone will have the same experience. Consider picking up a pair to trial them yourself. I’ll personally stick to my AirPod pros for now. I’m confident Apple will get these right eventually, and I’ll be first in line again, but for now I think there are several things they need to fix.

The AirPods Max deliver a warm, slightly V-shaped sound signature with good bass and mids, but the treble can be polarizing due to its peakiness, which may cause fatigue. They are noted for their good soundstage, imaging, and dynamics, although they may not handle subtle shifts in volume as well as some other headphones. The Noise Cancellation feature of these headphones are equipped with nine microphones that provide exceptional noise cancellation, effectively filtering out low-frequency noises. However, some high-pitched noises may not be completely drowned out. These are legit the best overall option for luxury quality headphones, bar none

These are hands down the most amazing headphones I’ve ever owned. Their noise cancelling feature is incredible. You can just place your headphones on and forget everything around you while jamming out to awesome music! The microphone is also really great for phone calls and picks up sound very well. I love that they go over the ears so they’re also perfect for working out and you don’t have to worry about them falling off. They even help keep your ears warm lol. Honestly this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I promise you won’t regret it!!!
