Been wanting to gift these to my woman for over a year now. Saved up enough to give them to her for her birthday. She wears them non-stop while she reads her book and she is happy as can be. My daughter bought these and love them. I used them once while snow blowing and could not hear the snow blower.

I expected nothing less from Apple than stellar sound quality, but other features of this unit make it better than I expected. There is a mode that either cancels or makes outside noise transparent, and it's all controlled by a button on the unit. When someone taps me, I can click the button and hear both perfectly.

The sound quality is even better than I imagined. They are a little heavy so no I wouldn't recommend using them for exercise or the gym. The seem very durable but the cups can get scratched easily. I have seen some silicon covers that I am going to try. Since you can't turn them off, have to watch the power level. I don't use mine every day so if I am thinking about sitting out back to watch a movie on my iPad, I need to check them in advance to see what the power level is at. Its great how they will automatically switch devices depending on where they are needed. I was watching a movie on my iPad with them, phone rang, it automatically switched over for my phone call. All in all great set of headphones, just a few things to keep in mind.
