Really good sound quality, but far too heavy. I have a small head and even on the smallest setting I was constantly readjusting them and sliding them back up, and for what they charge that shouldn't be happening.

    ### Apple AirPods Max Review: A Premium Listening Experience The **Apple AirPods Max** are a statement piece in the world of over-ear headphones, combining high-end sound quality with Apple’s signature design ethos. Here's a deep dive into their performance, design, and value for money. #### Design and Build Apple excels in crafting premium products, and the AirPods Max are no exception. They feature an aluminum ear cup design, a stainless steel frame, and a breathable knit mesh headband that distributes weight evenly. The build quality feels robust and luxurious, but the weight—at 385 grams—might be a drawback for those who prefer lightweight headphones. They’re heavier than many competitors, such as the Sony WH-1000XM5 or Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700, but the comfortable ear cushions help offset the heft for most users. #### Audio Quality The AirPods Max deliver an impressive sonic experience. Equipped with custom 40mm drivers, they produce a rich, balanced sound profile with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is among the best on the market, effectively isolating external sounds even in noisy environments. For those moments when you need to stay aware of your surroundings, the transparency mode seamlessly blends external audio with your music. Spatial Audio, Apple’s unique 3D audio technology, is a standout feature. Paired with an iPhone or iPad, it creates a theater-like experience by tracking head movements to keep the soundstage consistent. This feature is particularly impressive for watching movies or using Apple Music with Dolby Atmos tracks. #### Features and Connectivity The AirPods Max integrate perfectly into the Apple ecosystem. With a single tap, they connect effortlessly to Apple devices via the H1 chip. Switching between devices is nearly seamless, thanks to iCloud integration. However, Android users might find the lack of a dedicated app or customizability frustrating, as some features are exclusive to Apple’s ecosystem. Battery life is solid at around 20 hours with ANC and Spatial Audio enabled, though competitors offer slightly longer playtimes. The Smart Case, while criticized for its odd design, helps preserve battery life by putting the headphones into an ultra-low power mode. However, the lack of a traditional power-off button might be a minor inconvenience. #### Downsides - **Price**: At $549, the AirPods Max are among the most expensive consumer headphones available. While they deliver excellent quality, the cost might be prohibitive for many. - **Weight**: The heft could become uncomfortable during extended use. - **Limited Customizability**: Android users don’t get the same seamless experience, and there’s no equalizer or customization outside of Apple devices. #### Final Verdict The Apple AirPods Max are an exceptional choice for users already invested in the Apple ecosystem who prioritize premium sound, build quality, and seamless device integration. For those outside the Apple bubble or seeking a more affordable option, alternatives like the Sony WH-1000XM5 or Bose 700 may offer better value. ### Rating: **4.5/5** While the AirPods Max excel in performance and luxury, their high price and ecosystem exclusivity might not suit everyone. However, for those who value design, sound, and Apple’s magic, they’re a worthwhile investment.

I recently upgraded to the AirPods Max (USB-C) in Purple, and they’ve blown me away. The sound quality is absolutely phenomenal—crystal-clear highs, rich mids, and deep, punchy bass. Whether I’m listening to music, watching movies, or taking calls, the experience is immersive and top-tier. The USB-C connection is a welcome update—charging is faster and more convenient, especially if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem. Battery life is great too. I can go days without needing a charge, even with regular use. And let’s talk about the color—this new purple finish is gorgeous. It’s elegant and bold without being too loud. The design overall is sleek, premium, and comfortable for long listening sessions. The ear cushions are soft and breathable, and the canopy headband really helps distribute weight evenly. Active Noise Cancellation is top-notch—it blocks out everything from traffic to background chatter. And the Transparency Mode is shockingly natural when you need to hear the world around you. If you're looking for high-fidelity sound, seamless Apple integration, and head-turning design, the AirPods Max USB-C in Purple are a no-brainer. I’m in love with mine!

The AirPods Max deliver rich, detailed sound with incredible depth. Whether you're listening to classical, hip-hop, or podcasts, the custom-built 40mm drivers provide crisp highs, natural mids, and deep bass without distortion—even at high volumes. Apple’s computational audio, powered by the H1 chip in each ear cup, dynamically tunes the sound in real-time for optimal balance. The spatial audio with dynamic head tracking is particularly impressive for movies and Apple TV+, creating a theater-like experience in your ears. Noise Cancellation & Transparency: Best-in-Class Apple’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is right up there with Bose and Sony—if not better. It blocks out city noise, office chatter, or airplane rumble effortlessly. A quick switch to Transparency Mode makes it feel like you're not wearing headphones at all, letting in ambient sound naturally without being harsh. Comfort & Design: Luxurious, But Bulky The AirPods Max feel like a premium product—from the aluminum ear cups to the breathable mesh headband. They’re not the lightest over-ear headphones, but the weight is well-balanced. The memory foam ear cushions are plush and don’t get too hot during long sessions. Still, some users may find the weight (~385g) noticeable over time, especially compared to plastic competitors like the Sony WH-1000XM5.

Incredibly high build quality, which is important for headphones at this price point. Effectively identical in sound and ANC to the Bose QC Ultras, although those have perhaps better bass compare to the Max. If you already have an iPhone it should be a no-brainer: get the Max over the QC Ultra. AppleCare+ for the year was cheap and gives peace of mind. The ability to instantly connect upon removal from the case is really nice, and the battery life is excellent. I don’t find them particularly heavy, but they are undoubtedly heavier than the Bose or Sony equivalents. The modular design allows for super easy cleaning of the cups. I was skeptical about purchasing the Max even though I have an iPhone, as historically I’ve used Bose - no need, these are just as good and have quality of life extras that improve the experience on iOS.

These sound great and are very comfortable. I like that the ear cushions are attached with magnets so they are easily removed and cleaned after a workout. I don't know why there's no Apple logo or any kind of branding on a $550 product, but they still look nice and it just makes them easier to decorate them yourself with decals, stickers, or covers. I keep the noise cancellation feature on when I play my music, so it sounds the best, so when someone comes up to talk to me, I like to press both the pause button and the other button to switch from noise cancellation to transparency mode (allows you to hear all outside sounds clearly as if you weren't wearing the headphones) easily at the same time. And then when I'm done talking to that person, I press both buttons at once again and all the outside noise goes away and my music continues. It's a trivial but lovely experience. The battery life is great in my experience. I use these everyday for hours at a time but I've never had to worry about them dying on me. I also love how easily they connect to my iPhone when I put them on my head.

Don’t get me wrong, these headphones are nice. Comfortable all-day wear (except while eating), great sound cancellation, beautiful design, and stellar build quality. The all day battery life is great too. Just not worth the price tag. However, the sound quality is obviously not the draw of this product. The design and seamless integration with other Apple products is what draws people in. If you aren’t already deeply rooted into the ecosystem, don’t bother with these. There are much better quality (sound) options for less.

I’ve been using the AirPods Pro for a few weeks now and I’m thoroughly impressed. The noise cancellation is excellent—great for commuting or focusing in noisy environments. The sound quality is rich and balanced, and I especially appreciate the spatial audio feature for an immersive experience. They’re also incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods, and the fit is secure during workouts. Battery life is solid, and the quick charging is a bonus. Seamless integration with my Apple devices makes everything even smoother. Highly recommended!

Stunning audio quality and a must buy if you listen to a lot of audio material. I enjoy using this to listen to audio books then I connect it to my computer at work because the noise canceling is excellent. Battery life is actually good for a day and half of use in my case and I wasn’t expecting that based on all the YouTube reviews I had seen. Also it is as heavy on the head as folks say (heaviest I’ve ever had) and the clamp force on the head does take some getting use to. Keep in mind achieving that thigh seal around the ear is why the noise canceling and transparency mode feels so unreal. Comfort wise it’s not the best as I need to adjust the headband repeatedly (say every 15min) and the ear up material is so rough and it irritated the skin around my ear lobes. I got a silicone skin for the ear cups on Amazon ($8) to fix that and to also keep the ear cups fresh as silicone is easy to just wipe clean (ear hygiene is a must). Apart from that it is very much like other headphones in that it covers your whole ear and yes your ears will get hot when using it outside or in a warm environment. On like my Sony MX 4’s there is actually enough room in the ear cup and the sensors are receded so nothing really rubs on your ears ( depending on how big your ears are :)). last thing to know is the ear cups will get dirty immediately you start using them because it’s cloth rubbing against your skin so expect all the body oils, sweat, and skin to get cut in in the fabric; you will be washing it often unless you get a silicone skin or one of the hundreds of colorful 3rd party ear cups on amazon that can help hide dirt. Buy at Best Buy because I will say they are more helpful and customer friendly than the folks at Apple in my experience.

I’ve had some excellent sets of headphones over the years (Premium models from Bose, Beats, earlier AirPods, and a host of others) and I can say without hesitation: these AirPods Max USB-C are hands down the best I’ve ever owned. Sound Quality: Crystal-clear. Vocals stand out with incredible presence, highs sparkle without harshness, and the mid-range works beautifully for everything from rock to classical. Many reviewers also praise the detailed and refined tuning. The USB-C version even supports 24-bit/48 kHz lossless audio when wired. For me it’s realistic, immersive, and effortlessly premium. Comfort & Fit: They hug your ears. The over-ear design, plush cushions and canopy provide a feeling of being enveloped in sound without sacrificing comfort even during long listening sessions. One Reddit user noted “I can wear them for hours and not feel a thing.” Build & Features: Premium build quality, excellent materials and top-tier integration with the Apple ecosystem. The transition to USB-C means one fewer cable type for many users. Spatial Audio, ANC, transparency mode all perform well, and in every other important category besides one (see below) they feel superior to everything I’ve tried. Minor Downside: The mic / noise-cancellation performance for calls isn’t quite on par with the best in class, specifically I’ve found that in comparison to my AirPods Pro the ambient-noise isolation and mic voice clarity in noisy settings isn’t quite as robust. Reviewers have flagged the microphone behaviour as “not always predictable.” So if you rely heavily on headset calls in very noisy environments, this is a slight caveat. Conclusion: If you value excellent sound quality, premium build, and superb comfort, the AirPods Max USB-C are a fantastic choice. For me they deliver an unmatched listening experience. The mic/ANC for calls isn’t perfect, but it’s a very small trade-off given the overall performance. Highly recommended.

Great sound quality. No other mainstream headphones can compare to the AirPod Max when it comes to clarity in music and movies because of apples Spatial Audio feature. The Apple ecosystem is elite in my opinion. These headphones connect automatically and the quick switch between multiple devices is impressive. The clarity of voices in movies is trippy with Spatial Audio, sounds like they’re talking around you/to you. I love the new lossless audio update through USB C connection, great for enjoying the highest quality music for the average consumer. For casual, mainstream headphones, it’s impressive what they can do. The ANC is extremely impressive as well, helps with airplane noise, traffic noise, etc. I also haven’t had any problems with the battery life either. They last a good amount before having to charge them again. They are on the heavy side but I’m able to adjust, the weight can be an issue for some people though. Another great feature is the magnetic earcups, easy to attach and detach if there’s condensation build up.

I've been using the Apple AirPods Max for several months now, and they’ve completely changed how I experience music, movies, and even work calls. The sound quality is truly phenomenal, crisp highs, deep bass, and a wide soundstage that makes everything from classical music to podcasts sound immersive and alive. Comfort wise, the mesh headband and memory foam ear cups make them easy to wear for hours without fatigue. The build quality is exceptional solid, premium materials that feel really nice. Battery life hasn’t been an issue at all, and I appreciate how seamlessly they integrate with the Apple ecosystem. Switching between iPhone, iPad, and Mac is smooth and instant. Yes, they’re expensive, but if you care about sound quality, comfort, and design, the AirPods Max are absolutely worth it. Apple nailed it with these.
