Great headphone … idiotic limitations

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It’s my fault for not doind my research, but when trading in my Lightning Airpod Max for the 2024 version with USB-C port I expected for the plug format to be the only difference. For charging, that holds true, but … if you travel, you suddenly (and surprisingly) lose the ability to plug into the plane entertainment system simply because there is no equivalent of the 3.5mm-to-lightning cable. At least the latter existed, but there is simply no USB-C to 3.5mm cable that works with the 2024 Airpod Max, not from Apple nor third parties. The only option is to use a 3.5mm to Bluetooth (wireless) adapter. That’s a rather pointless update for a 4-year old product. (I suspect for a Airpod Max 2 to follow “soon” and render the 2024 version an embarrassing money grab.)
