But, like a rockstar who misses a note, the fit sometimes slips, and the battery life is good, but not encore worthy. Still, I love them

After many drops and about 4+ years of usage the battery and right airpod was on its last leg. The noise cancellation and transparency where not working anymore, just would hear static after 15min of usage so i decided to upgrade. Man you can hear the difference, it sounds much better and the noise cancellation is also much better. Probably as good as when i got the first gen before apple nerfed the noise cancellation. Well worth it especially because of the adaptive, lowering volume from stem and usb c
