Audio distorted sometimes when answering a call

I wouldn’t have expected that from earbuds that cost $200.

Helpful Apple Air Pods

They use up data on my phone unless I am the wi-fi in the place where I need to use them. Noise cancelling is good, but not what I need. They are also helpful for TV series dialogue when characters are speaking quickly to each other in their own vernacular.
