However, if it connects to an apple device, then the sound on my android goes away, and I have to delete it from the Apple and Android and then pair it again. Frustrating!

These Airpods are improved from my last version. They have an outerspeaker on the case which can help when pinging the Airpods. Overall, the noise cancellation is good.
