I ended up buying them because I lost my 1st gen AirPod Pro but found them shortly after so returned them. Not much difference between gen 1 and 2, but if you’re new to AirPods or AirPods Pro they are absolutely worth keeping.

The transparent mode is good but nothing to scream about with these headphones. The first generation is just as great and stay in your ears
